Address Clover, 78 Booth Street, Annandale, 0433 258 252Look for the yellow arch on Booth Street and you'll find Clover, where a delightful team is busy brewing in-house coffee and serving breakfast from the wee morning hours. It used to be a laundry, though the "dry cleaning" sign beneath the counter is the only evidence. Inside it's a warm blend of cheerful pastels and funky furniture. Children's mobiles hang from the ceiling above long wooden tables and benches. A little miss in her pink polka dot coat shares an iced chocolate with dad as she draws with crayons. We devour a quick breakfast before work while a man dressed in shorts and a T-shirt lingers over his latte outside. The coffee is good and the breakfast menu fantastic. Don't expect monstrous portions. The flavours are the focus. Home-made baked beans with chilli labna ($10) are hearty and spicy. Arabian-style bircher muesli with pistachios and poached fruit ($8.50) is laced with dried coconut. An omelet with goat's cheese, pesto and mushrooms ($11) is beautifully balanced and baked organic eggs with mushrooms and napoli feta ($10.50) are served straight from the oven.Staff are friendly and attentive. We get the feeling we'd be welcome to stay all day.
